‘Auksis’

Auksis

‘Auksis’ is the cultivar most planted in new orchards in Latvia, about 10% of planting area. It is widely grown also in its native country Lithuania and recently planted in Estonia. The variety is known for its very reliable production and fruit quality, and is easy to grow. The fruits are harvested in the first days of September and tend to drop easily, so fruit picking must not be delayed. The flavour remains as good in March as in September. Fallen fruits are used for different kinds of processing. Quite often the apples can be bought at supermarkets.
