Prime Minister of Latvia Māris Kučinskis visited the Institute of Horticulture

On July 16, during the regional visit in Dobele, Prime Minister of Latvia Māris Kučinskis visited the Institute of Horticulture. During the visit, Inese Ebele, Director of the Institute of Horticulture and Edīte Kaufmane, Head of the Scientific Council, presented to the Prime Minister leading activities, research directions of the Institute of Horticulture and cooperation with the industry, visited the Institute's laboratory where plant genetics, pathology and entomology, and other studies and researches are conducted. The guest delegation got acquainted with agro technical research in the institute's garden, tasted cherries and also enjoyed other plant varieties grown in the institute, berries - raspberries, plums and black currants.

At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister visited the memorial museum of Pēteris Upītis and dedicated a handwritten note to the guest book: "Thank you very much for the experience and joy of cherries, plums, raspberries and meaningful presentations of your work and intentions! I am glad that we have such creative and optimistic people, who constantly think how to improve the Latvian environment, give joy and help others who, in their turn, use your achievements in your life! /Prime Minister of Latvia, Māris Kučinskis/
