An international conference on nutrition and health was held at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU)

RSU norisinājusies starptautiska konference par uzturu un veselību

Between December 5 and 6, 2024, the 4th International Conference “Nutrition and Health” took place at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), gathering researchers from a wide range of countries. The event featured invited speakers from Austria, Australia, the United States, Lithuania, Ireland, Romania, and Latvia.

The main topics of the conference focused on nutrition policy, public health and epidemiology, nutritional science, health-promoting foods, food quality and safety, sustainable food systems, and other issues relevant to public health.

Young doctoral researchers from the Institute of Horticulture also presented their work at the conference:

  • Danija Lazdiņa: “Potential of different horticultural fruit species’ seeds and pits in protein extraction”
    (Presented within the framework of the LBTU Scientific Capacity Building Fund project No. Z75)

  • Georgijs Baškirovs: “Tocopherol and tocotrienol homologues recovery from Hypericum perforatum L. and its extraction residues by aqueous ethanol solutions”
    (Presented within the framework of project LZP_2021/1-0651)
