Speaker of the Saeima Daiga Mieriņa Visits the Institute of Horticulture
Today, the LatHort was pleased to welcome the Speaker of the Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, on an informal visit. During her time at the Institute, Director Inese Ebele introduced the Speaker to the Institute’s activities, main research areas, and laboratory work.
The visit also included discussions on current challenges in science funding. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen financial support for research to ensure that Latvian scientific institutions can develop competitively and collaborate on equal footing with international partners.
