Field Trial Demonstration at Pūre Research Centre

Today, the Latvian Institute of Horticulture’s Pūre Research Centre hosted its annual Field Trial Demonstration, bringing together a wide range of participants – colleagues from related research institutions, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture.
The programme provided an overview of the Institute’s current activities and ongoing research projects. A particular highlight was a presentation by our colleague Toms Bārtulsons, who introduced the application of deep learning technologies for the early detection of plant diseases, showcasing the growing potential of modern methods in the agricultural sector.
Following the presentations, guests had the opportunity to tour the experimental orchards and learn more about the latest research and breeding results. The event concluded with a fruit tasting and lively discussions, where participants exchanged insights and ideas for the future development of the sector.
