Strengthening Resilient, Innovative, Sustainable, and Efficient Agrifood System in Latvia (RISE AgriFoodLV)
General objective: To develop knowledge, create scientifically substantiated and innovative solutions to strengthen Latvia's agrifood system by improving its sustainability and competitiveness, thereby increasing the country’s resilience to crises and external risks. Lead partner: Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. Partners: Institute of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment “BIOR”, Riga Stradiņš University, Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre. Objectives: 1. To develop scientifically substantiated and innovative solutions for strengthening the food system by implementing a cross-sectoral multi-actor participation model. 2. To promote the development of research human capital, expand knowledge, and strengthen educational processes. Scientific activities: WP1. Establishment and implementation of a cross-sectoral multi-actor participation model.WP2. Strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the food sector for sustainable bioeconomy development. WP3. Sustainable agricultural solutions. WP4. Development of new food products. WP5. Limiting infections and antimicrobial resistance. Results: 28 WoS/Scopus publications; 33 conference abstracts; 10 new products, technologies; 10 policy recommendations; 5 international scientific project proposals; 6 defended theses; 32 other scientific results.
